My personal style is very much inspired by the 90s, which you see in both my extensive vintage collection (you can see my full handbag collection videos part 1 and Part 2 (Chanel) with a ton of 90s and early 2000’s bags) and in the new pieces I choose to add to my closet. While I’d say my style is both 90s/vintage and minimal, where I think I differ from the true 90s minimalism is I like to mix in more modern silhouettes with interesting details. I’d also say my style is less feminine than a lot of the 90s inspo, and less “classic”. What I appreciate about the 90s is there was always a casualness and practicality to the styling.
Occasionally I like to browse Pinterest for vintage inspiration and save to a 90s board or screenshot, but a lot of times I just make a mental note. I never use inspiration photos literally and copy an entire outfit, because that tends to make me feel like I’m wearing a costume and not “me”. Instead, I like to take the overall vibe and essence of a look and use that to inspire playing with pieces I already own, or thinking in terms of the upcoming season and what types of silhouettes I may be looking to add to my closet.
Here’s an inspo board to show you how my brain thinks when I see these types of photos and using items I either own, have similar, or are on my current wishlist. I am hoping this feels more helpful and attainable and gives you some good styling inspo!
I’m currently in a 90s Gwyneth Paltrow phase, so she will be my muse for this moodboard. While her style was a bit more feminine than mine, there’s a lot of elements I get style inspiration:
The Elements:
Oval silver metal sunglasses her and Brad Pitt would wear frequently. Aureum Collective just came out with this similar vibe pair (NATALIE20 for 20% off) that I just picked up and can’t wait to style!
I also love browsing vintage sunnies and own a few pairs, although it does take a lot of time and patience to sift through listings and see the condition of them- scratched lenses and bent frames are common and can be challenging to remedy (especially the lenses).
Slightly sheer tank: I’ve been eyeing this one for a month or so and since I’m putting it out in the universe I think I need to hurry up and order because I would be sad if it sells out before I even give it a try.
Silk Pants: here’s where I take creative liberty- she’s not necessarily wearing silky satin pants here but it’s how I envision the outfit as you see the flowy pants in the top picture and the color scheme of the bottom photo. I have these pants in the black and I’m soooo obsessed with them, they are one of my favorite pairs and I feel amazing when I wear them. I may need to scoop up this new color way also. I sized up one size in them from the size chart just because I have a bit wider hips and don’t like when things cling there. They skim and flow down perfectly. I’m 5’3” and wearing these with heels, I just have a safety pin tucking the back up so they don’t drag. Maybe I’ll get them hemmed at some point but sometimes I’m lazy and this works good enough for now.
Wedges: again not what is pictured and I do have strappy sandals that would work great like the ones I have one in the photo above (NAT15 for 15% off) but I saw these awhile ago and they popped in my head when I was looking at these outfits. I’m not a wedge girl but these are so cool with the cutout detail that I would make the exception.
This cuff gives the outfit a modern feel, but still feels relevant in a 90s outfit. I love the cutout detail of this one. They have other gorgeous silver jewelry which is really having a moment this year and I think will be sticking around for a long time.
A vintage bag: this one is vintage Gucci (same one in black under $200 here) I made a video about here, but you can use any sort of mini bag (bonus points for a satin bag). Also made a recent vintage bag edit newsletter here to browse more styles.

Weekly Roundup:
On IG, I shared my newest bag that I think will be such an IT bag going into Fall (but practical and not over saturated as I’ve yet to see a single other person with this bag). Watch the unboxing here.
On TikTok, I did a Sezane Haul/Unboxing (this was my favorite piece which you will probably notice in the background of a lot of my photos now)
Also did a mini review of my new ZIIP (use MODEZIIP for discount) and liking the results so far especially in my jowl area.
Margaux (a fab shoe brand I have these gorgeous sandals from) just gave me an exclusive promo code to share:
NATALIE35 for $35 off orders over $200! I also am getting these woven Mary Jane’s which I think are perfect for late summer transitioning into Fall. I’m testing out their narrow footbed option (they also have wide) and I love that offering because it’s a more customized fit!
