👜2025 Bag Trends: Vintage/Preloved Edit Part 1
While we are awaiting Spring 2025 handbag releases, I love to browse all the deals on the Preloved market to find alternative versions of this years “it” bags. Dare I say they are even better…
In my experience, January tends to be one of the best months to purchase Preloved/vintage bags. There is always a good amount on the market, and usually the sales are pretty good. I use January as a month to look ahead to the spring and summer trends and jump on some preloved/ vintage finds before other people catch on and prices go up. Also, I feel as if I should clarify the definitions of when I say Preloved or vintage. “Preloved” is anything that has been purchased by someone before and condition can range from new to used. These bags can be new season, a few years old, or even a few decades. “Vintage” technically is anything older than 20 years.
As I’ve been sharing my passion (read: obsession) for vintage bags for many years now, I’ve gotten more and more cautious as to where I can comfortably recommend buying Preloved and vintage from. There’s just so many random places, websites, and individuals selling, and I don’t feel right recommending places I haven’t personally purchased from and can vouch for a smooth process and trustworthy authenticity. One of the places I’ve personally shopped from and trust for over 9 years is Fashionphile. I feel so lucky to partner with Fashionphile now, as it’s somewhere I personally love to shop from! They are having their Red Envelope Sale that just started, and I wanted to share some of my favorite picks from it that I think are also very on trend bag styles (and also several that I own!) First, here’s the discount codes depending on your spend:

These rectangular style bags are definitely “back” for 2025. I’ve already seen some chatter for the Hermes Victoria bag in the vintage circles, and Hermes really emphasized the similar style Plume bag in their runway show. The image on the left is from Hermes 2001 runway and still feels very current.

Another style that was re-released by Hermes and becoming a hot commodity is the shoulder birkin bag. Also featured on the SS 2025 runway, this style was an iconic JPG style that was first shown on the runway in the Fall 2004 collection.
If you aren’t playing the Hermes game, you can scoop some up on sale here:
Orange, White, Blue Jean, Turquoise
This Chanel bag has a similar shape, but was too good not to share:
As Chloe is bringing boho back, fringe bags are going to be coming back in a big way. This is a great trend to try vintage, and I particularly gravitate towards the vintage Bottega versions as they don’t feel as “western” to me (nothing wrong with that, but I prefer a more modern feel).
